Baton Rouge is in Louisiana, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Baton Rouge follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Went here the end of May and found the market to be only a couple of blocks long. Nothing like some of the photos show. Maybe we were early in the season? Market was a true farmers market with produce, meats, and other foods. Not a lot of craft stuff.

We had such a wonderful time at the Red Stick Farmers Market in Baton Rouge! I brought three of my grandchildren, and it was such a fun, engaging experience for all of us. They especially loved going from vendor to vendor collecting stampsβ€”it really kept them excited and involved. The weather was absolutely perfect, which made walking the market even more enjoyable. Of course, we couldn’t leave without visiting the plant vendors. We picked up a strawberry plant, mustard greens, and broccoli seedlingsβ€”such a great way to spark their interest in growing food. This market is lively, welcoming, and family-friendly. A beautiful way to spend the day while supporting local growers and makers. We’ll definitely be back.

Great choice of plants and veggies. Ponchatoula strawberries are soooo sweet. Lots of leafy veggies plus the normal vendors selling meat, breads, eggs, and other great foods. And the πŸ„ farm products are fabulous.

I enjoyed my visit to Red Stick Farmer's Market. I got there late in the morning and there wasn't a whole lot in the way of produce. However, there were vendors with artisan cheeses, breads, teas, coffees, cakes, jams/jellies/preserves and baked goods. Everything from microgreens to fresh seafood to hand made butter! The area was clean, vendors were polite and have great personal stories about their items and businesses. BUY LOCAL!

SPECTACULAR!β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† Every weekend for 22 years is what one of the farmers related to me. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh, Happy & Invigorating! This is a part of my Hometown and Downtown Baton Rouge (Red Stick). It looks like a smaller version of Ponce City Market (the Old Sears Store) in Historic Fourth Ward near the Beltline. Great presentation, event, and vendors (children and young adults were involved as well). I'm so happy and inspired. Thanks River City Planners and Citizens.
